The Swarm
Christchurch based "hooch" rockers The Swarm present songs of passion, pride and positivity for their province.
Red n Black Town is the title track from their Red n Black Town EP. All the songs were written in and around the time of the Canterbury earthquakes. The seismic activity released some of the creative tension that had been building deep inside the band.
The Swarm's influences are as diverse as The Foos, The Pistols, Cash, The Pogues, The Dubliners, Buddy Holly & Motorhead. The Swarm boils up all of these influences and leaves them to ferment in the shed. The result is "hooch" rock.Gallagher / Thorpe of The Swarm are also long serving members of Ian Costello's legendary Irish combo The Black Velvet Band.
