Biography

Stitches was at first a musical entity confined to hard drives and websites. Designed by JP Carroll (Guitar/Vox), demos were lovingly crafted then released into the wild, where they floated without purpose or direction.A demo landed in the possession of Dave Johnston (producer) and Matt Keller (engineer), (Villainy, the Zoup)  who heard potential. An EP Project was born. Daniel Purchase (drums) and Hugh Hokopaura (bass) saw that something was hatching from the early mixes of the EP, and with JP in the rehearsal room they reared the sound into adolescence. With snarling bass, thick, juicy distorted guitars, guttural screams and concise drums, Stitches' sound has drawn comparison to Chevelle, Nirvana, and Blindspott. As Stitches prepares to release it's debut EP, momentum is gaining, bigger and better songs are being born and Stitches' groovy, heavy modern rock sound is finding it's way onto stages around Auckland, New Zealand.

With drum tracking just around the corner, our debut ep is nearing completion. We're going to need a name for it. Lets play a game, name our EP - the only criteria is the name has to have a type of animal and the name of a city in it. Extra points for funny. GO!
