Biography

Andrew Keoghan's debut LP Arctic Tales Divide was released in March 2011 and mixes pop, folk, classical and electronic influences. It was named The New Zealand Herald's top local album of 2011 and was a finalist for this year's Taite Music Prize.  Born in Antigua, West Indies, Keoghan's family returned to New Zealand when he was two. Growing up he learned guitar, singing, saxophone and violin.  In 2001 Keoghan sung in Christchurch Opera's season of Turandot, then spent three years as a jazz singer in Wellington. In 2005 he travelled to South America, spending much of his time in Rio de Janeiro composing.  Last year he performed shows in Australia and the United States, including New York's CMJ music festival.
